The Birmingham All-City Open Mat
Every Friday night, Ohm Jiu Jitsu hosts a free open mat that's open to all gyms and anyone who trains jiu jitsu — even if you're not a member of Ohm. Any gym, any level, any affiliation: you're welcome on our mats.
Why we host it
The all-city open mat strengthens the jiu jitsu community in Birmingham. It gives everyone in the city a place to get rounds with new partners, cross-train between gyms, and build the kind of scene where academies have relationships instead of rivalries.
Instructors are on-site if you need help, but there's no structured class — drill and roll at your own pace. Saturday mornings at 10am we run a members-only open mat as well.

Visiting from another gym?
Just show up. Sign in at the iPad when you walk in, take your shoes off before the mats, and come get rounds. Drop-ins regularly tell us they got quality training without feeling like outsiders — that's the whole point.
Curious about training at Ohm full-time? Beginner classes run Mon–Thu at 5:30pm and your first class is free.
